Some great speakers have been secured for the upcoming conference “Celebrating Albinism” in Melbourne.
There will be an introductory session on albinism on the Friday afternoon for those new to albinism (parents or PWA) and professionals who work with children or adults with albinism (teachers, health care workers).
Karen Wolffe from Austin, Texas will challenge our thinking on successful workplace participation and raising children’s expectations on work. Opthalmologist Dr Wendy Marshman will speak about the latest in surgery and other options and Andrew Fuller will have us laughing as we explore how to remain resilient through the transitions of life.
Major technology suppliers will display the latest gadgets and software while other experts tell us how they use them with success. We have a group of members who will share their stories and wisdom, including Liz Beales, Shari Parker, Chad Perris (paralympian), Emina Hubanic, Kieran O’Brien and many others. We are still planning the childrens’ and youth program that will run in parallel – more details soon.
There will be informal gatherings for drinks, dinner and coffee on Friday and Sunday evenings. On Saturday night there be dinner with music by the Bushwhzee band.
Conference registration information and a program outline with accommodation details will be available shortly.
